Excellent site, keep up the good work. I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I'm glad I found your blog. Thanks, :)

Good pointers there Elevic. Tools are just tools, the important thing is understanding the principles behind why some things work and others don't.

Here's my take.

Find an authority on blogging, in your case Yaro, then learn as much from him. Take action. Afterward, start reading other authoritative bloggers like Darren Rowse The Problogger or John Chow, perhaps even our own Carl Ocab.

Note that trying to read all of them at the start will generate information overload. Mastering sufficiently the lessons of just one will give you a general framework by which to understand or interpret the methods by the other gurus. Then, note the similarities and/or differences of their approach.

By this time, you know the bigger picture. You can pick and choose whichever tool you like. I have observed, Sir Charlie, that sometimes gurus will tell you the same step but will recommend different tools.
