Perhaps because I have spent most of my life in an academic environment. I love it for many different reasons and on top of the list is the word “HOPE”.

GRADUATION = HOPE

That’s how I see it. But I’m guessing not everybody does.

But for most people or fresh graduates, graduation is a milestone, it’s like telling to the world “I’m ready to face you”. It’s liberation day. It’s a new chapter in life. It’s filled with joy. It’s getting ready to create your future. It’s about being hopeful for what lies ahead.

Unfortunately that feeling is short-lived!

The first few months is exciting, you may have even taken a one or two month break. Then you head on out to the world and start looking for a job and then you begin to wake up to one stark reality that they never told you in school.

It’s not easy to find a job… a job that fits your course… a job where you can apply your skills… a job that pays well… or just simply a job!

And with all the other fresh graduates like you competing for the same positions you begin to wonder how you could ever land your dream job. And this is when you begin to settle for any job as long as it pays.

You come in on your first day excited, hopeful, telling yourself “I will do great here”. You receive you first paycheck, you look at it, and your jaw drops as you see that line there that say withholding tax! And you realize how much the government takes so much away from the hardwork that you put and they will do that for the rest of your working life.

You look again at your take-home pay and you look at your dream and begin to wonder, how could you ever reach your dream?

And now begins, one of the biggest mistakes many people do in their working life. They change their dream!

It might not happen immediately, some take years, but for many people it does happen. They hop from one job to another only to realize that the situation they are in is no different, and they begin to settle, and they change their dream!

And you know what changing your dream means? It’s giving up your HOPE!

And many people in the working environment have lost this precious thing they held on to during their graduation.

Are you in this situation now? Let me help you get out of it!

But first you have to dig deep down in your heart about what it is that you hope for right now. What is your dream?

Let this commencement speech given by Steve Jobs in 2005 at Stanford University help you rekindle that fire if hope you once lost.

Hi there, I thought of starting a series of video lessons which I hope will take you closer to your journey towards your FREEDOM!

It’s a simple series of lessons I have learned along the way to building a business online. While I always say that I am still far from the success that I want, that doesn’t mean I cannot share with you the lessons I have learned along the way.

So I hope you like these lessons beginning today with Lesson 1: Do You Want an Internet Job or a Business?

Here are some key points you might consider in this lesson…

There are many ways to earn money online but all of them boil down to either a job or a business.

You need to decide if you want a job or a business because this decision will determine the kind of skills you need to develop to succeed in either.

You might consider looking for a job if…

You need a secure income source

You prefer working for someone else

You are afraid to take risks associated in business start-up.

You have a specific skill you can market to employers.

On the other hand, you can start a business if…

You want FREEDOM!

You want to be in charge of your financial future.

You want to be your own boss.

This is our dream and you are willing to do anything to make it happen.

Whatever you choose, the decision has to be made by you.

I hope you enjoyed this lesson and if you want to keep updated of these lessons by email or you want to be the first to know the new lessons as they come consider subscribing to our FREE newsletter. It comes with a FREE -book as well. Click here to subscribe.

And as usual if you have comments about this lesson or questions just add your comments below. I am more likely to respond here than by email as I get a ton of it everyday.

Have a nice day and God bless!

Let’s get you out of your box!

Charlie

Do you know what a blog is? You may have probably heard of it a lot if you frequent the internet yet it is surprising how many people still don’t have an idea of what blogs are. I guess not everyone adapts fast in the techie world we live in nowadays.

Blogs have been around for almost 10 years already having started sometime early in the year 2000. A blog is the short term for weblog. There are numerous definitions of blog on the internet and there’s a good compilation of definitions done by Darren Rowse in his Problogger website.

You could think of a blog as an online “logbook” where entries called “posts” are generally entered in a chronological arrangement from newest entries to the oldest ones.

Way back in college at the University of the Philippines me and my friends often have this “logbook” that we leave at our tambayan (hang-out place). This is where we normally write to each other, make announcements of upcoming gimmicks, post compelling thoughts, or just simply saying hi or greeting someone a happy birthday.

This was before the generation of the cellphone and text messaging so this was the only way we can communicate to one another since we normally have different class schedules.

Now a blog is just an online version of that “logbook” plus a bit more. With blogs you could do about anything from posting announcements to writing about certain topics you are interested in to even selling items. The chronological nature of blogs make it appealing in delivering up-to-date and relevant content to everyone who gets to read your blog.

And the internet has even made starting your own blog very simple. You could start one for free within a couple of minutes. Two free blogging sites come to mind where you can start.

www.blogger.com

www.wordpress.com

Lee Lefever from the Commoncraft show made a wonderful video that explains what blogs are in very simple terms. Watch the video above to see what I mean.
