Problems with Subscription

Submitted by charlieaquino on Aug 31, 2009 – 11:34 pm2 Comments

If you have been trying to subscribe to our newsletter and get an error message, I’m sorry because somehow the database got corrupted and the form is not working. I tried recovering the data but it was really destroyed and I did not know what caused it. I’ve been trying to reconstruct it today but I guess I just have to restart. Now I’m using a different script altogether.

It’s a free autoresponder I was able to download here.

I saw good reviews about this in the PHPList community which is another newsletter subscription handler that is open-source. I thought I’d give it a try and let you know what happens.

So it’s going to be a till morning work again to get this online. Wish me luck!

  • Hey Charlie, I thought you taught us NOT to USE free autoresponders? What happened with your Getresponse?

    Hi Elevic,
My Getresponse is still working but I thought of trying out some self hosted autoresponders so others who cannot afford getresponse or aweber can still benefit from having their own autoresponder. I remember telling not to use free autoresponders and I still feel strongly about that but what I mean there are free “web hosted” autoresponders. If you can get your hands on “self-hosted” autoreponders that would be really great as you only have to pay one time. The one I’m trying out “Infinite Responder” is a free “self-hosted” autoresponder. You have to host it on your own site. The downside though is you still have to set it up in your hosting which can be a daunting task for some.
